Hello friends,

My wife asked me to ask you if anyone has had numbness for years and then started to feel some tingling where there was no feelings in her feet before.  Quick background it has been over three years since her diagnosis and because of the various chemotherapy treatment had lost feelings in her toes.  

She told me a few days ago that she is feeling something now, her doctor thought that she would never get that back, but now she is excited that there is something returning.  So, she asked me to find out if that is possible.  So, here I am wondering if you experienced something similar.

Update:

We had a fantastic two weeks in Hawaii, very hard to return home.  We are enjoying life and each other.  Becky's energy is returning and she is able to function at work.  Wishing everyone the best.

Wife diagnosed 7/08 stage 2B 4.78cm with 3 nodes. 15 weeks of Adriamycin and Cytoxin, Mastectomy, 12 weeks of Taxol, and 6.5 weeks of radiation.

Hi Dave!

I never lost entire feeling in my toes or fingers, but get numbness sometimes.  I think this is a great sign that Becky is getting feeling back in her feet.  Good sign and news and hopefully it continues.  So glad you both are enjoying life and had a great vacation.  I think I would have found it difficult to return after 2 weeks in paradise too!

Hi Dave,

In my day job, I am a motor therapist :) Nerve damage, like from neuropathy, can feel like numbness or tingling, but so can return of sensation. When people have had nerve damage from things like surgery, nerve sensation is very slow to return, and often begins with what feels like tingling. I hope this is the case for her and it continues! What a great present that would be! Keep enjoying each day and each other!
