TNBC member Daisy49 lost her fight with TN inflammatory breast cancer on April 2, 2011.
She told me that this site gave her a lot of comfort and felt that the people in her life without TNBC could not possibly understand what we go through. She was a coworker in one of our regional offices and she reached out to me in a major way, by sending funny little gifts through our interoffice mail. Things like a little chia pet dressed pink with the bc ribbon and a challenge on which one (me or the the chia) would get hair first!
Leslie went quickly when the time came; she worked right up until a few weeks before she went into hospice and died shortly after that.
She was also a spokesperson for all of us: “I’m very upset,” said Leslie Twohig, 48, of Lothian, Md., who has been taking Avastin for eight months and credits the drug with helping her survive. “How long will I be able to stay on Avastin? Are they going to take it away? I know it’s working for me. Right now I am able to enjoy my life. Every morning I wake up and wonder how long it’s going to go on.” This quote can be found all over the internet by googling her name.
Leslie was my mentor and my friend albeit long distance. She told me from the start that she felt I was going to make it past this and she was not. I always had a better chance with a diagnosis of Stage 3c than she did with Stage 4. I do hope to get past this and keep a place of honor for Leslie in my heart.
I thought some of you would like to know of her passing. I am told her family was at her side.

Thank you for posting Leslie's obituary.
Leslie was a very kind contributing member of the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation. She was always there to send a kind word to those who were having testing or new chemo trials. She will be greatly missed! Most of the gals that Daisy49 (Leslie's user name on TNBCF)spoke to are also gone, but they will never be forgotten! No more pain, and numbness, no more rumbles in your ears, no more trying to go to work ..... May You Rest In Peace Daisy49 in the arms of our Lord Jesus, Amen. TNBC_in_NS, Helen

Dear alexanjb-
I am glad you decided to post about Daisy49. I was particularly saddened by her obituary. Another good woman tragically shortchanged at such a young age. Our TNBC family has suffered deeply these last months with many losses.
I think these tributes are so important for all of us so we can properly mourn our dearly departed..
Leslie shall be missed and remembered..May she rest in peace.
Thank you for sharing Leslie’s personal information with us and how she positively impacted your life. She did that with many here.

I am deeply saddened by Daisy 49's passing. Too fast, too young, so senseless.

Thank you for letting us know about the death of Daisy49. She was always very supportive of those on the TNBC site. It sounds as though she suffered a lot. May she rest in peace and I will miss her and her posts.
God Bless,

Oh no, so sad. I'm so sorry to hear that we have lost yet another beautiful (and young) sister to TNBC. I'm glad she was able to live fully up until the end of her life, even continuing to work up until she entered hospice. That's amazing and inspiring. She was always very sweet to everyone here on the site. love, Denise

I am terribly saddened to hear of Leslie's passing. As I am still attempting to deal with my own grief of losing my daughter, I thought I would be numb to any other feelings, but I find I am not. I am angry, terribly angry, that we have lost yet another wonderful woman to this heartless, nonsensical disease. My deepest condolences to Leslie's family, her children, and all those that will miss her dearly.
