Topic: Post Treatment Muscle Stiffness Posted: Dec 29 2010 at 12:23pm |

I need some advice here. I finished up my radiation before Christmas (hooray!) and for the last week of it forward I have been very stiff, when I get up I feel like I have arthritis or something. It almost feels like the stiffness I had with the taxol, but I am not sure.
I have an appt with my dr in a couple of weeks and I will ask her about it. Still, does this sound like something that happens at the end of treatment?

I had muscle stiffness for months after my treatments, my onc said that was normal may be you should ask your doctor about taking vitamin d3 that helped me plus I take calcium. Hope you feel better.

I'm 4 years out and still have joint stiffness and muscle weakness. I take anti inflammatory meds every night. I've never felt totally recovered from chemo. I'm getting ready to start yoga in hopes that it will help my flexibility and muscle strength. My onc said that when one particular area hurts and doesnt go away, that we would check into it thoroughly. I still have days when I feel like I'm 100 years old.... LOL Not complaining though. Each birthday is a year for celebration!

I have just been so tired after rads (finished in April 10) and I still have those cognitive moments fom the chemo. The neuropathy is clearing up. That's good but I just had a lat flap reconstruction and the lack of back muscles for suport has made it difficult at work. Hard to sit.
I thionk exercise helps and I'm seeing a chiropractor tomorrow but let's face it...I'm just not the same. It's a period of adjustment.

Well, everything has gone away so I cant complain too much. The neuropathy took awhile but is completely gone now. Every once in a great while, I get tingling in the fingers but it never bothers me or last for any length of time. I had this theory that after chemo I would be smarter since after killing off good and bad cells, I would get new younger onces to regenerate. Ha Ha WRONG!
Cant blame a girl for trying! :-)
