Dear TNBCF family,

One of the most special things for me this past year was meeting Pam (trip2). We met in July about an hour outside Dallas. We had dinner with her husband and one of her daughters (who by the way is also BRCA1+).

I joined TNBCF in April and was welcomed by many here (thank you all). I have been on this planet for almost 66 years and I can honestly say that Pam's devotion to TNBCF has deeply impressed me. For much of the time since April, Pam has been going through a lot. She has had two bouts with TNBC and her treatment and the cancer have taken a toll on her.

She rarely complains....she just keeps doing research for all of us and also consistently posts support for all in her special, caring way. She is a gem. Meeting her just reinforced the impression of her that I had formed via her postings and emails/phone calls. When I called her from Dallas airport to tell her I was on my way to the restaurant she said "you be careful (driving)." and when I left at night, as did her daughter she said the same to both of us. That I think sums Pam up. She is always thinking of the next person, first, and does so with intelligence and a warm heart.

She is having risky surgery a week from today and I know it may seem slightly early to start expressions of support but I feel, somehow, that it is important to do so now so that she may feel our love that reciprocates the love and concern she has showered on so many of us. I believe our support will make her stronger and more able to endure what she will be going through.

This thread is my idea. I asked Pam permission yesterday to do it. She had no idea what I would say but told me that she was looking forward to our support. She is anxious over this surgery and will probably have to be on a ventilator for awhile afterwards. Her daughter has promised to keep me informed on her recovery and I will keep everyone posted.

So here goes...the first of what I hope will be many positive vibrations sent to our dear Pam-

M-My prayers are with you
Y-You are one of the most special individuals I have ever met

P-Please know that I pray for you every day
R-Remember you are truly loved by our TNBCF family
A-All of us have benefited from all your hard work. Thank you
Y-Your intelligence shines through on every post
E-Each of us carries hardship in our own way. You have done so with grace
R-Remember you are truly loved by our TNBCF family
S-Seems you have found a special niche in my heart

F-Family is what TNBCF is about
O-Oh, if I had a magic wand
R-Remember you are truly loved by our TNBCF family

P-Perhaps you are blushing a but? That's o.k. It's all true
A-A successful surgery and smooth recovery is what I wish for you
M-May you receive the giant cyber-hug I am sending you with the love I have for you

in your corner, always,

Steve

Dear Pam,

We've never met, but Steve has given me a very good picture of who you are. Please know that you will be in my thoughts and that I'm pulling for you. You are so obviously loved, Pam.

All my best,
Rena

Dear Pam,

You will be in my prayers.  Since joining this forum and TNBC family, I've come to learn that you are the backbone of our family.  You give so much to all of us and never ask for anything in return.  You truly are a very special person.

Can you feel this Big CYBERHUG coming your way????

Donna

PS:  Steve, You are so special to all of us.  I love your words to Pam.  How true!

Pam,

Here's wishing you a smooth surgery and speedy recovery so you can get back to the business of keeping so many of us in here informed with your abundance of informational posts.

I know that is what you enjoy doing because I just read your post on the subject of giving back and staying informed.

Take care.

Hi, Pam.   Is this the thyroid surgery, or are you having other parts tweaked under the hood?   I love you, and wish you an easy surgery, quick recovery, and fantastic health and humor in 2010.
Love,
Denise

Our Dear, Sweet Pam,

You've blessed the lives of so many here on this website- deeming each of us worthy of your love, attention and most of all your extensive knowledge of triple negative breast cancer. GOD BLESS YOU for that. Until my diagnosis in December of 2008, Triple Negative was an unfamiliar term for me- and you were an enourmous help in quickly arming me with the knowledge necessary to make the best possible decisions for myself. You continue to educate us all, while offering moral support in countless ways, when we need it most.

Here's wishing you all the love and strength in the world when you are in need of our support. My wish for you is that you literally feel lifted up in prayer and support as you endure each difficult day. You have an army of support here, and we wish you the very best.

Fear Nothing!!!

Dear Pam,

I will keep my all fingers crossed for you. Wish to you a succesful surgery and quick recovery!!!

You were one of the first who supported me on this forum, and being BRCA1+ like you, you gave me real hope for the future. I have a son myself, who supports me in this journey, although he is only 8. I understand what means to be a mother and I understand your feelings and fears.

As Steve describes you, you are an incredible courageous and loving woman, and I would be honored if I'll be able to meet with you in person one day.

My prayers are for you, Good luck and God Bless You Pam!

Dear Pam,

I pray for your speedy recovery of the next week surgery and effective treatments.
I check your TNBC reference information every day, and often introduce it on my blog with my translation. You are supporting many breast cancer patients.
I informed this topic at my blog site today and believe my friends are also praying for you.
You are living far from me, but my heart is always staying close to you with our friends.
Take Care
