"Scientists at the University of Leicester in England may have identified a gene that puts breast cancer patients at risk for fibrosis--the formation of hard, thick scar tissue--after radiation therapy.  About 8% of women have the gene and they are 15 times more likely to develop fibrosis.  In the future genetic tests may make it possible to identiy those at risk of developing the condition ."
