Talking with children about breast cancer

Hi,

Some one who just joined the forums asked about talking with children about breast cancer.
If any one remembers a prior thread on this topic, would you please post the link(s)?
If any one has some thoughts to share or some good resources to share , info is welcomed.


To start:

1. Speak with a social worker about talking with children and breast cancer.
      - The social worker at the cancer center you are going to.
      - Call the TNBC Helpline and speak with an oncology social worker.
          The Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation® has partnered with CancerCare to offer free,
professional support services to patients, families and health providers coping with a diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer. The TNBC Helpline is staffed by experienced oncology social workers with specific knowledge of triple negative disease. In addition to counseling, TNBC Helpline staff can assist callers in availing themselves of the various other services CancerCare has to offer including, where appropriate, helping patients apply for co-pay assistance, transportation and other social services.

Monday through Thursday 9am to 7pm EST and Friday 9am to 5pm EST.

10 year old made a video about his Mom having breast cancer.
He "wanted to help other kids know that there are other kids out there with Mom's with breast cancer
and people know how they feel."   (Appears his Mom had ER + breast cancer.)
