I was recently diagnosed with Stage IV triple negative breast cancer. I have had 2 rounds of AC already with 2 more to go then 12 rounds of Taxol. I have a 17 year old son, a wonderful husband and a sweet 16 month old baby boy. Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

Hi Brandi,
I'm sorry about your diagnosis, but glad you found us. Please feel free to ask questions or just vent if you need. There are lots of loving and caring people on the forum that will help you in this journey. Are you getting treatment from MD Anderson? I noticed you were from Houston.

No, I'm getting treated at Memorial Hermann. They have a great breast care center and my doctor is the best. Everyone says MD Anderson is the best but I would feel like a sheep there. Just one in a herd. My team has become like family to me. My oncologist worked at MD Anderson for 15 years and still works with them on things. Plus my hospital is 20 minutes from my house whereas MD Anderson is an hour away. Driving that far when you feel like poo just doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun!

Hi Brandi, I also got recently diagnosed with TNBC (in October) and I have a 15 month old baby girl (and a son who is turning 9 tomorrow). It's really tough at first after learning we have breast cancer. But I think it gets little better after the shock wears off. I am learning to take it one day at a time and keep our old routine as much as possible. It takes my mind of things and gives me a feeling of having a "normal" life. With all the doctors appointments it's hardly normal but the days in between, I try to do things that we would typically do. I just had a surgery last week and can't pick up the baby, probably for about 2 more weeks. But my husband and older son help out and I find creative ways of getting her places without picking her up. She's now all of the sudden allowed on the stairs (with me right behind her of course) and my 9 yr old learned how to get her in and out of the car seat. It sounds like you have a great supportive team behind you as well! I am supposed to start AC once I recover from the surgery. Also radiation. Will you be getting radiation?
