Hello everyone,  I have not been on the site for quite a while things have changed a little.  (or my memory is shot LOL)  I am on my fifth week of radiation whew!   The problem is swelling, pain, redness, and itching.  I counted on the redness and itching but not the swelling and pain.  Has anyone else had swelling and pain?  The Dr. repeated my Cat scans Tuesday for treatment placement and remarked me.  She said due to the swelling the treatments were not hittiing where she wanted them to.  Eleven more treatments to go including the boost yeah!!!!!  This all just started Thursday any input would be appreciated.  They gave me lotions, creams, auqaphor, and cooling packs.    Thanks and God Bless Julia

That should help, my wife was pretty light skinned and she experienced blistering pretty bad but no swelling.  Just oozing and pain.  If it gets worse your oncologist for some pain for sleep.  You are almost through it!  Congrats!

Hi Granny,

Welcome back.. it has been a while. I have been finished with radiation for 11 months now and still have pain and swelling. I have been to a pain specialist and he gives me pain medication. The only thing the onc could do was suggest creams, cold packs etc. It is subsiding though. I still have the seroma in my breast as well. They took a bit out of it to check for disease and thankfully it came back negative. I guess some of us take longer to heal than than others. I am 55 and otherwise pretty healthy.

Hope this helps a bit.
