Hello everyone,
I am new to this but very happy to have a place to ask those who have been there before me. Dx 6/07 Stage 2 Node Neg M neg, but Triple Neg. which I am just now finding out is not good news. After 4 rounds of TAC and 30 rad the onc suggests Xeloda & Avastin for 1 year. Wondering if anyone has done this combo, their side effects and overall thinking. See the doc end of Jan.

I may be taken Avastin with my treatment which is A/c and Taxol 4 rounds of each, dose dense.  Its a clinical study.  I'm not sure whether I will be doing it or not because of the possible side effects, worried about the possible bowl issues.  I would be very interested in what your doctors thoughts are on why he wants you to do it.

Thank you for your response. I will continue to update you as I get more info from my doctors. Still interested in others experience with these two meds.

I was diagnosed in March 2007, stage 2b, grade three tumor, 2 out of 10 nodes.  I completed 4A/C and 4 Taxol- dose dense.  I also did a high dose of radiation for 4 weeks instead of the usual 6 1/2 weeks.  Just had a PetScan on 12/31 and waiting for results. 
I have not heard of Xeloda and Avastin.  Any suggestions for information and how to talk with my oncologist about this would be great.
