Hi there TNBC sisters. I was diagnosed 6/2015 and am now approaching my 8 year anniversary (end of treatment). I had stage 2b with no nodes involvement. 12 taxol, 4 AC, lumpectomy, 36 rads and then xeloda (I had to fight for that). I followed with Zometa (I also had to pursue on my own).
At the time I completed treatment I was told they would not be scanning me or running blood tests to keep an eye on things. There is a part of me that is okay with that and a part of me that is not. I would love to know what all of you have been doing and what you were told the procedure would be for when you were all done. I was treated at UCSD in San Diego and to be honest, my Dr made me feel like it was a hopeless cause and that I was going to die anyway. Ended up with PTSD from her.

Bethie -- I am sorry to hear you were traumatized by your doctor's attitude. I am impressed you were able to fight for treatments that I thought were new to the game.

I was diagnosed Stage 1 in December 2019 and had a lumpectomy first, followed by 4 dose-dense A-C and 4 dose-dense Taxol and 20 radiation; no nodes involved. That was basically it for treatments since the immunotherapy and other options were not part of standard treatment. I get no scans or blood work for specific markers, but do see my oncologist every 3-6 months and my surgeon once a year. I developed osteoporosis and chose to use Zometa to treat that because of studies showing it helps prevent recurrence. As I close in on 5 years, I will have my last visit with the surgeon and my visits with my oncologist may be reduced. I am nervous because I did not find the tumor on my own -- my PCP did during a routine exam. (I would have had a mammogram soon after that, but still...) Like you part of me is okay with it and part of me is not. But I suppose the medical teams feel like we are likely to have a good outcome so fingers crossed they are right for both of us.

I had 2 negative Signetura tests and my last one was positive.  Had PET scan and it was clear.  Anyone in similar situation? Can ctc number decrease?
