Just for fun...I thought it would be interesting to see how everyone wears their head on an everday basis during the hairloss phase...

I am mostly bare headed at home because it has been a hot humid summer. I wear hats, scarves, or wigs in public. I try to have fun with it and have quite a collection mostly from the TLC catalog.

I finished chemo in March but my hair took a break and didn't start coming back in until May. Now I have about 2 inches of soft wavy hair, in my normal color. Still too short to style, but I feel soooo lucky.
I wore wigs outside and to work, and fluffy knit caps around the house until this last Monday. Finally got up the nerve to go to work au naturel! Everyone is very supportive (though they think I just got it cut this way because I wanted to).

I wore cotton bandanas at home and would only wear my wig when I went out in public. During the winter, I found wearing the fleece caps better. I would even wear it to bed to keep my head warm.

I wear mostly the scarves, triangle ones. I did buy a wig, worn once.
Am planning on sewing fleece hats for winter. Also I wear my scarf to bed
when my head gets cold which has happened lately.

I wear my "good" wig to the office and church, my "backup" wig for small shopping trips, or on vacation. I go bare-headed at home, or wear a cap if my head feels cold. Once I went out in public without any head-covering, because I actually forgot about my loss of hair. Hubby didn't see anything amiss with me going out that way, and it was only when I realized folks were looking at me somewhat strangely (but not unkindly) that I remembered!
My hair is very sparse, and now totally white, and therefore my pink scalp shines through the short (stand-up straight!) hair left on my head. Hope it does grow back at some stage...

When does our hair grow back? I keep saying it's growing, but I know it isn't.
Does radiation take it out, too?

Hummie,
I had my last chemo the end of Sept 09. At first it doesn't feel like it's growing, but all of a sudden you'll notice it growing back everywhere. It took until the end of February (5 months) before I felt comfortable not wearing a wig to work. It looked like a short, curly pixie style.
