Topic: Clinical behavior of a cohort of patients with TN Posted: Jun 24 2008 at 6:39am |
This is a small study.
"Background: In recent times, there have been publications on the clinical characteristics of breast cancer that is negative for ER, PR and Her2, triple negative BC, but its behavior patterns are not clear We present the descriptive analysis of a cohort of triple negative patients at our hospital"
If you guys would prefer I can stop putting up these articles or studies. I know some of them are upsetting and I always hesitate.
Hugs to you all,
-

I, for one, appreciate your research, Pam. I'm one of those who likes to know about what I'm dealing with. I feel like folks can either choose to open up these articles or not.
So, thanks.

Pam,
I really appreciate you resrearch too. I feel you help me stay updated on current issues I might not have time to find.
I can remember times when I needed to take a break from reading new information, but I can make that choice whenever I want.
Warmly,
Sadie

Pam,
I'm with Cheryl, I appreciate the research you do , and for those who don't want to read your posted studies, they don't have to open them. I try to keep up on the research, but you find studies that I don't always have the time to find. So yes, even though they can sometimes be depressing, I feel we can't give up hope. The more research the better!

Hi Pam,
It's all good with me... I just don't have time to do the research that you are doing... So keep up the great work!
The facts are the facts we all have to take the good with the bad!

Pam,
I appreciate all your loving hard work researching this for me/us... If we have coped with diagnosis and treatment, I'm sure that I can cope with research good/bad/in different.
Most of the time I can't understand a damn thing and even reading the conclusions iare like a hieroglyphs.
Always gives more questions than answers ...
So 46% alive with NED after 15 months!!!!!! Why not the full 6.5 years follow up? mmmmmm 15 months from when? Dx? Chemo end? radiation end? Surgery end? So 54% had something, of which 8 died.
Is that your understanding Pam?
Do I have to have p53 levels done now? If I'm p53 positive or negative then what? Where the ones who had reoccurances p53 pos/neg.
many holes not answered .. perhaps we can put a questonaire together Pam and contact them.
Can we offer to join their "study" group when they expand the testing?
Many thanks, this is good ..let's get a dialogue going with these researchers. Be not afraid. Love and Light

Hi Jan,
Was the test for p53 just a blood test they will do for you??? Or do we need to have the gene doc's do it? I was thinking about asking my onc about it but I wasn't sure if it was somthing that doc's are getting on board with or not.
There is just so much new information out there I never know what to take to the doc's and what to just sit back and see how the reseach progresses.

English Jan, oh how I would love to sit around a table with some of these people and ask questions. You are right, how do you take the darn article or study?
Beth Anne, my lab does not do the p53 test but I noticed that some women do have it done at pathology time. I don't know why that is so I would suggest you ask your doc next time you go in and let us know what he says.
Or I could ask for that matter but don't go in for a couple of months yet. We'll find out.
