1 yr Anniversary

 

I am approaching my 1 yr anniversary (April 4th) since being diagnosed. I will be having my first mamogram (March 12th) since my lumpectomy last October.

 

My question is how many ladies on this forum are past the year mark with no new issues? 

 

It seems like most are still doing treatment or just diagnosed, as should be because that is when support is needed the most.

 

But I am at the stage of waiting to see whats next.

I am 3 1/2 years out from the end of my treatment so that makes me aobut 41/2 years from diagnosis.  So far everything keeps going well for me.  All of my tests and scans are clear.  My oncologist was very excited when I reached the 3 year mark.  She is very proactive and is still watching me pretty closely.

 

Congratulations to you.  The one year mark is a wonderful start.

I am just 7 years past dx. Treatment and knowledge was different when I was dx. My onc still sees me 2x a year although he isn't a big propronent of scans, blood work etc. and I've never had that done. I've never had any issues other than what seems to be the usual post treatment items ie teeth, dental work, thyroid, dry skin, muscle aches etc. Some of the things I read the others talk about currently. Some things went away and some I've learned to live with, not knowing if chemo was a cause, menopause or aging and it all happening at the same time. Not that I think of myself as old by any means.
