Ladies,

Hoping someone can offer some input on my pending TUG Flap surgery.  I had a Lattisimus Dorsi Flap in October 2011 and in November 2011 I found myself with a raging infection that meant my implant needed to be removed.
Has anyone had TUG Flap surgery (where they use the skin from your inner thigh(s))?  What can I expect from the surgery, appearance after surgery, recovery, etc.???  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chicago 21

Hi Chicago,
I wish I had some information, experience to give but I am still pre-reconstruction. TUG flap is actually a surgery I am also interested in.  I'm sorry you had a terrible infection and had to lose your implant.  I've read some postings about different microsurgical flap techniques on the breastcancer.org site.  I always feel weird posting and directing someone to another site but I direct people over there here when there is something pertinent - hope it is ok - but in any event, you might check out that other site, too.  Sendcng you best wishes for a successful reconstruction.

Thank you for your replies.  I will definitely continue my online research.  Once I have my surgery, consider me a resource!
