Hello all! New to this site, and wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with small cell breast cancer. I am 63, and was dx on 6/1/16. Completed 6 chemo cycles of carboplatin and vp16. Had BMX with left ALND on 11/2/16. Radiation to begin next week. My MO, RO, and BS have only seen two other cases besides myself.

Welcome ancaranas,

I've never heard of small cell bc and from googling, it seems to be extremely rare.  Was it also triple negative?

This article from 2005 reported only 30 cases of this type of bc.

Hi 123Donna! It is triple negative, which is why I joined this site. I first posted on breastcancer.org when originally dx, but no responses. I was just trying to find another person to chat with about their tx. Yes, the frustrating part is Google has little data on it. My oncology team also had little info. Re: tx. Since it is very aggressive I won the tx trifecta...chemo..surgery..radiation.    now the good news is pathology of surgical tissue was negative for any cancer. so I have a lot to be grateful for. How are you doing on this journey?
