I'm in another support group of TNBC survivors. Two topics can cause heated discussions in the group: medical maijuana and Can I avoid Chemo?. We are trying to have a calm discussion about the use of legal marijuana with TNBC. Some members fear discussions like this for fear that vulnerable members (sic) (not really informed members or terribly anxious members) will be influenced by the discussion and will end up doing something hurtful. Well...medical marijuana is real and available and its use takes many forms. I think discussions on this topic are necessary to inform members of how marijuana use is now sanctioned by doctors and other authorities in the field. How do you feel about such discussions?

My opinion. Medical marijuana is good for managing symptoms of cancer treatment. But in no way should it be used to replace standard and traditional medical care. Unfortunately there are people who believe THC will cure cancer. Completely untrue and many folks have died who otherwise could have been saved with traditional cancer care. Listen to oncologists and specialists. Use THC to manage pain, increases appetite, stress. But not as a cure.
