Hi all,
I’ll have my 4th A-C chemo Friday and then we’ll start Taxol weekly for 12 weeks. Can you all share your experiences with Taxol? I have no idea what to expect.

Also because we planned a spring break trip prior to my diagnosis we are scheduled to travel by car away for a week. The first Taxol is scheduled to occur the day before we leave. I’d like to postpone it by 10 days so I can feel reasonably well over break. Does anyone have any experience with a delay in treatment like this? I’m scheduled for an ultrasound later this week to check on effectiveness of AC and will discuss with my medonc on Friday. Just wondering if anyone has done this. I’d really lie to feel “normal” and enjoy the week with my husband and 15yo daughter.

Thanks in advance for any advice/comments!

Hi,

The weekly Taxol for 12 weeks was very easy on me. I did not loose my hair as they said I would but i think you already have from the A/C. Taxol can cause more neuropathy, especially the hands and feet but i did not experience that either. I have read some people can have bad allergic reactions to Taxol so I am sure they will watch you closely with your first infusion.

Taxol was not bad for me either. No neuropathy or allergic reaction. I worked while in it. I felt good first few days and the some tiredness for a couple days.   I was going weekly and did ask to skip a week due to planning a graduation party. The doc agreed and said they just add it to the end. Hope this helps!
