Has anybody had a primary ER+/PR+ breast cancer that metasized to a triple negative breast cancer at another site?

My wife's estrogen positive changed to triple negative about 8 months ago. She's on Xeloda and it seems to be working; numerous small mets to spine gone and only a couple stubborn mets left. Dr says Xeloda is effective but slow acting.

In 2004, I was diagnosed with ER+ PR-, Her2 Neu - breast cancer. 10 months later, after dose dense chemo and radiation and a complete hysterectomy, I was diagnosed as stage 4 as they found it in my ovaries. For 10 years I was stable on and aromatase inhibitor. Then, my tumor markers went up gradually and my scans started showing obscure readings in my colon. After two years, I had an abdominal laparoscopy. I was now triple negative. (Making a long story short). I have been on Abraxane, and recently Gemzar and will start Xeloda on Monday. I, too, am looking for those who were once ER positive and now TNBC, especially if metastatic. I have it in my bones and my colon. Any contact with others like me is welcomed.

Thank you for the links. I appreciate the information. Can you tell me if you are currently on any type of treatment? And, if so, what, as well as, how are you doing?

Hockeymom,
I'm currently NED (no evidence of disease) and not in treatment. I was dx in 2009 and then again in 2010. I finished treatment in 2011. I see the oncologist once a year now.
