I am wondering how long is TOO long before traetment begins. I found my tumor on 6/5 and still have not started treatment. Lots of detours and bumps in the road. My doctor now wants to see about getting me in a clinical trial which would probably delay tx another two weeks at least. I think the trial would be a good thing, but I'm really worried about all these delays. I hope someone with some clinical knowledge can jump in.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi - 4 months seems very long to me. What is your diagnosis? My concern would be getting treatment before being put in a trial.

Hi Juliet,

The optimal time is to start chemo within 60 days.  I hope this doesn't scare you.  What clinical trial are they recommending?  What was your initial diagnosis, stage, nodes, etc.  Did you have surgery first?  What type?
