thank you Abdul I asked dr Mayer at Vanderbilt and she said it’s too soon for any preliminary results
She said that 253 women are in the study and she says the chemotherapy are all doing well

My concern is my enlarged lymph node in my breast there are two of them

My radiation oncologist wasn’t concerned initially until she compared my recent MRI TO MRI from November and she said it was enlarged then.  She’s says 50 /50 it could be cancer or could not

The MOat Vanderbilt thinks it’s reactive

My radiation oncologist said she can start the xeloda while on radiation but it would disqualify me for the trial

It’s s tough decision and I’m
Praying about it

James123,

This is a hard decision.  Is this the trial your MO is suggesting for you?  It's a Phase 3 trial and while they haven't posted any results, maybe your MO has some additional information she/he can share with you.

Platinum Based Chemotherapy or Capecitabine in Treating Patients With Residual Triple-Negative Basal-Like Breast Cancer Following Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy
ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT02445391

I am currently in Radiation after 6 months of Chemo then surgery didn’t have complete response. Radiation redid scans and is concerned about 2 enlarged lymph nodes and she plans to Radiate the are so I will get a total of 34 radiation treatments

I was referred to a clinical trial xeloda vs Carbo at Vanderbilt university and I met with them and they are evaluating to see if I qualify.

My radiation oncologist is recommending to start The Xeloda while on radiation because she is concerned about the nodes the problem is that if I start that it will disqualify me for the trial.  The trial MO believes my TNBC is Basal like because she says 70% of TNBC is Basal like

Any thoughts
