http://www.cancertherapyadvisor.com/breast-cancer/breast-cancer-tnbc-brca-status-carboplatin-treatment-risk/article/675223/

The article states that Carboplation is more effective in non brca mutation carriers. I thought it was the exact opposite..

It looks to me like there is a benefit using the carboplatin with BRCA positive, but not as much benefit as those who don't aren't BRCA 1/2 positive. I may be reading this wrong? In the world of research much is developing right before our eyes so glad you brought this to the forum.

Here's an article that is 3 years old

We had a thread several years ago discussing this topic.  Lots of good articles and information in it - please read through it.  I also commented how I believe I benefited from a platinum treatment even though I'm BRCA negative.

Yes there may be some benefit for patients that are not BRCA positive.  In my example, I am BRCA negative, but benefited from Carboplatin when I had a recurrence.  I achieved NED after 2 cycles.  My onc believed my tumor was basal type.  I think the platinum chemos may be effective for nonBRCA patients too, maybe all or just a subset of those patients.

The following video talks about chemo in the metastatic environment.  The first part discusses TNBC patients with highly basal like tumors and subset that responded to a platinum chemo (cisplatin and some carboplatin).
