Hi there,

My mom has been taking the parp inhibitor Talazoparib in a clinical trial for 11 months and progressed for a single tumor only that constantly grew. Xeloda did absolutely nothing and the side effects on Gemcarbo were too much!  I was wondering if using another parp inhibitor from a different company (like Olaparib) would benefit her? I've read somewhere that parp inhibition is different between these drugs so i'm guessing it's worth giving it a try. Any thoughts?

I'm not familiar with this drug, I saw this:

sorry if this isn't very helpful, my wife is seeing a doctor at UCSanDiego and she has a good oncologist at Scripps/La Jolla/San Diego, his name is Sinclair, and he is pretty "blunt" on what is going to work or not, James Sinclair.

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, I saw this article...
http://www.onclive.com/web-exclusives/role-of-parp-inhibitors-evolving-in-triplenegative-breast-cancer

it keeps saying "informative" which in my mind means not conclusive...so I am just pointing hat out, when I read clinical trials' results, I read between the lines, and it's best to ask your oncologist, if this has validity...

We are in San Diego, and I know we have a good oncologist and surgeon, Oncologist is Dr. James Sinclair,/Scripps/  he has been very straight with us, whether any new drugs are promising...
