Whenever I see an article like this I'm reminded of the lesson my sister's illness has given me. She had constant vomiting, as in ongoing for a month, and the doctors all reasonably assumed that this was chemo induced and so they tried the gamut of standard anti nausea and anti anxiety meds.
 
Nothing worked. The vomiting continued and we came within a hair's breath of losing her.
 
Then my uber smart onc thought outside the box and wondered if it was Addisons, or an adrenal failure. Tests came back positive. She was in full crisis.
 
The reason for my reply here is to encourage everyone to look beyond the first line analysis. While the doctors were trying to treat what they thought was chemo related, sis had some permanent damage done to her body not to mention that her ability to fight cancer was compromised. Assumptions are no one's friend.
dx 7/08 TN 14x6.5x5.5 cm tumor

3 Lymph nodes involved, Taxol/Sunitab+AC, 5/09 dbl masectomy, path 2mm tumor removed, lymphs all clear, RAD 32 finished 9/11/09. 9/28 CT clear 10/18/10 CT clear

I remember the case of my mother, she not only got the problem of vomiting, but also high blood pressure due to it. It made us feel helpless as chemotherapy was must for her. But once the treatment stopped, she was normal again. Still I feel, if there is any better option for this.
