I am a TNBC survivor now for 2 1/2 years. I am doing well, feeling good, and enjoying my life. During treatment,  I had 4 rounds of Chemo and 36 rounds of radiation therapy. As a result I had lost my hair, a few of my toe and fingernails, felt awful a good part of the time, but I had persevered and pushed on through it all.

There is one side effect, though, that I wonder about. Chemo Brain ... can the effect linger for years? I still have trouble recalling words, names, past memories, etc.  What bothers me the most is ... sometimes I can't remember things that I've, done or said, in the span of just a few hours. I find myself saying, "I don't remember" a lot and it frustrates me to no end. My husband has told me that I sometimes blurt out something, seemingly, without thinking of the consequences.  This situation is making me feel very stressed. Have any of you experienced something similar to this? Thanks for any input you can provide.

I know I still struggle with it years later.  It's not as severe as when I was going through tx or right after, but I still notice the symptoms more when I'm tired.

I've been dealing with it now for at least 6 years with no signs of improvement. I try to keep my mind active and engaged watching current events, playing word association games, cards, listening to music and exercising (water aerobics). So far I haven't taken any drugs to deal with the issue and I don't know that I want to.

If I hear of any advances I will definitely post them.
